Key:
- My macros are in bold. Standard NatSpeak macros
that appear on this list are in bold italic. The macros
I consider most useful are colored green.
- Words separated by slashes are variables. For instance,
the macro Close/Maximize/Minimize/Restore/Next/Last
Window/Document is really 10 macros, including
"Close Window," "Maximize Window," "Maximize Document," etc.
- Anything in angle brackets <> is a list of variables.
For example, with the macro Close <Program> you can say
"Close Netscape," "Close Word," "Close Wordpad," etc. Variable lists
are included in the documentation.
- Words within macros that appear in parentheses () are
an alternative way of saying the previous word. For instance, the macro
Show Options (Preferences) allows you to say either "Show Options,"
or "Show Preferences," to mean the same thing.
- Headings within the "Global" Macro category are descriptive,
organizing the macros into categories like "General," and "Selecting
Text." Global macros work in all programs.
- Macros that work only in specific programs are grouped
by program. Macros that work in specific portions of programs are grouped
by program and program window. For example, the macros listed under
"Word: Find" work only in Word's "Find" window.
- You'll also find several Self Guided Tours throughout.
To take a tour, simply say the list of commands that makes up the tour,
and watch what happens on your screen.
- Macros marked with an asterisk * are fragile in some
way, meaning they might not work on your computer like they do on mine.
See the Reasons Why These Macros Might Not Work and Ways to Fix Them
section at the bottom of this document for more information.
